We check the floor box or service console position against the chair's template before anything is fixed, set the chair base on a level, load-bearing floor and anchor it where the manufacturer requires. Operator side, assistant arm swing and light position are agreed with the dentist first, so the surgery suits four-handed working rather than the installer's convenience.
Dental units are a fluid Category 5 risk under the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, so the water feed needs an air gap or a unit with built-in Category 5 protection. We connect compressed air at the pressure on the unit's data plate, run suction and drain with a continuous fall, and land power on a dedicated circuit installed and certified to BS 7671 by a qualified electrician.
Spray water and air set on each instrument line, turbine and motor drive pressures adjusted to specification, foot control response tuned and chair travel limits programmed. Values are recorded so the next service engineer starts from known settings.
Safety stops, foot control, operating light, scaler, suction and every instrument are tested under load. You receive a commissioning record and the manufacturer documentation, and your team is shown waterline disinfection, daily start-up and shut-down, and the checks HTM 01-05 expects.

Where the floor box and services are already in the right place, a replacement chair is usually installed and commissioned in a few working days. A new surgery takes longer because water, air, suction, drainage and power have to be run first. We give you a programme once we have seen the drawings or the room.
We are authorised by Anthos and Dentsply Sirona and trained at their own facilities, and our completed work includes Anthos treatment units. For other mainstream brands we work to the manufacturer's installation manual; tell us the model and we confirm before quoting, including whether that manufacturer requires its own engineer to commission the chair.
The manufacturer's warranty comes through the supplier you bought the chair from, and installation by a brand-authorised engineer keeps it valid. For Anthos and Dentsply Sirona chairs that can be us. While the chair is under warranty, report faults to your supplier, who sends an authorised engineer. We do not add a separate warranty of our own.
Yes, the surgery being fitted cannot be used until the chair is commissioned. In multi-surgery practices we work room by room so the rest of the practice keeps seeing patients, and we can schedule work around closures. Contact us to plan dates with you.
